PoC: 2 min self-installation of remote soil temp sensing (80/120cm depth)



First a quick above ground run through of how I built the sensor and a test showing temperature response.

Then in the second video I drive the Analog Devices DS18B20 temperature sensor embedded in a garden stake 120cm into the ground (I say 80cm first but change my mind at the end). The point here is to show it could be any sensor and that it can be a simple and quick self install.

Note the below is a 6 minute video but the install time itself is roughly 2 minutes if you don’t include all the time I spend talking about what’s happening.
